This is a softer brown leather with a sturdy tan/ off white leather for the base. All of the leather was sourced from scraps. You can fit a phone and some other small items into the pockets. They are secured with strong leather cord that can be tied. I hand riveted and stitched the entire thing. It's pretty small however the corset ties on the sides make it adjustable. You could certainly add some longer cords to accommodate larger sizes. I am a size 12 and I wear this same type of belt just loosened. I would not recommend this belt for someone above a dress/skirt size 16 as I don't think the design would fit comfortably
